AAA City Removalist was commissioned by the University of New England to relocate their head office.
The University of New England (UNE) is a renowned Australian institution with a rich history spanning over 60 years. UNE was ranked No.1 for its teaching quality and student experience in NSW by the Good Universities Guide in 2021. UNE also ranks at or above world standard in over 40 areas, according to the 2018 Excellence in Research for Australia done by the Australian Research Council.
The University of New England hired us to move their head office to another location in Parramatta. This Commercial Removal job included moving and packing services and we estimated that it would take us three days to complete, given the sheer scale of the overall project as well as accounting for possible contingencies that could add to the timeline.
As with any removal job we take on, the first course of action with this project was to analyse and understand the possible challenges we faced. One of the main reasons that the client chose AAA City Removalist to handle this relocation is because they believed in our brand and were aware of our reputation as a Removalist who got things done, no excuses!
We appreciated the trust they placed in us and wanted not just to meet their expectations but exceed them. This meant being prepared for any and all possible challenges that could come our way. If all our years of experience in the moving industry has taught us something, it is to never go in blind. Relocations involve a lot more than just moving and packing. They involve project management to ensure high productivity, staying on top of the budget and keeping up with time.
With the University of New England Relocation, we had the following challenges to overcome:

With this particular Commercial Removal job, here’s how we tackled the issues we faced:
Mitigate Access Issues Within the Building with the Right Equipment & Extra Manpower
When it comes to jobs where you have to deal with stairs, narrow corridors and other structural issues, the best way to go about it is to turn up with all the necessary tools and equipment to make the task easier. This includes pulleys, trolleys and even having a couple of extra sets of hands-on board to help with the complex task. That’s exactly what we did here. We determined that having a couple of more guys on the job will make things go faster and smoother.
Request Local Council for Parking Access
Being a business with strong local ties to the community, we were able to contact the Parramatta local council and obtain passes for parking access. One moving truck was parked at the front of the building while two others were parked at the back. This meant that our Movers had to make long trips to-and-fro to load the items onto the truck, but it was the best solution given the circumstances, so, with a little bit of elbow grease, we made it work. We also confirmed with council regarding the Light Rail construction work schedule so we could decide what times would work for us.
Train Our Staff & Strictly Follow All the COVID19 Safety Regulations
The final challenge we faced was the COVID19 safety measures to be followed. To be honest, this wasn’t really a big issue for us as AAA City Removalist was amongst one of the first companies in Australia to adopt a COVID19 Safety plan. Last year, when the pandemic started, we trained all our staff rigorously on precautions they need to take and safety measure to follow. Our goal was to keep our employees and the greater Sydney community safe.
Our COVID19 Safety Measures included use of Polypropylene (PP) masks, gloves and wiping down and cleaning our trucks with strong disinfectants. Our staff have been advised to stay at home if they feel ill and inform us ASAP so we can all get tested. We are committed to helping our communities with removals and relocations without compromising their safety in any way.
One doesn’t just land a Commercial Removal job with one of the most prestigious educational institutions in Australia because of luck. So, how did we do? We’re happy to say that we managed to complete the removal job ahead of the deadline. At the start of the job, we estimated that it will take us three days to complete the removal. But, thanks to our hardworking team, we were able to complete the job in two days! Along with the packing services, this meant the entire job was completed in three days, much to our client’s delight.
Every time we cross the finish line and complete a job successfully, we look back at those who made it possible. We are grateful to all the people who have been a part of this project in some capacity or another, starting with the Parramatta City Council.
